Mission Statement

The importance of sports and games in school encompasses more than just the benefit of physical activity. Increases in self-esteem and mental alertness make school sports and games necessary for every school age child. It teaches the children life skills like teamwork, leadership, patience. Studies have shown that exercise increases blood flow to the brain and helps the body build more connections between nerves, leading to increased concentration, enhanced memory, stimulated creativity, and better-developed problem solving skills. In short, playing sports helps your brain grow and makes it work better.
This summer we will continue or format of healthy living by holding an all-inclusive fitness summer camp. Offering a fun summer camp experience where campers will get fitter, faster, stronger and learn how to live healthier lifestyles. Each day will be an adventure as campers explore different physical activities that will test their coordination, improve their balance, increase their endurance and show them fitness is fun!

This is a kid friendly fitness program is simply focused on getting kids healthy and moving properly. Falcon Fitness is uniquely designed to encourage a love for fitness in kids and teach them safe moving mechanics to help them move comfortably in their daily life. All while they play their favorite sports and compete in a variety of activities.
• Focus on fitness, nutrition, coordination, and teamwork.
• Fun daily activities include: CrossFit, Gymnastics, Yoga, Games, Crafts and Nutritious Snacks.
• Continued circuit training and introducing “Cross-Fit”.
The Falcon Fitness Academy Summer Camp will awaken your child’s love for exercise, enhance their cognitive skills and promote working in teams. Your child will learn different skills from different sports and learn about nutrition and healthy habits through interactive activities.

This program is meant to be fun and engaging while also providing a way to encourage and motivate kids to exercise at an early age. This is the way to instill in them a love for health and fitness. In our program, campers will learn proper and efficient and functional movements required in daily life, improve their strength and coordination, enhance their cognitive skills and learn to work in teams. Campers will have an opportunity to build and sustain a healthy lifestyle while emphasizing good movement mechanics which will enhance sports performance and prevent sport injuries.

With the right plan and program structure the average weight loss in our camp can reach just about four pounds per week. The loss is half from dieting adjustments and half from the physical activity. Campers will be active 2.5 – 3 hours a day, burning approximately 800 to 1,000 calories daily. Over the course of a week that between 5,600 and 7,000 calories per week, the equates to your first two pounds. The other two pounds fall off by creating a fitness plan that promotes consistent physical activity and compliments the controlled caloric intake.
Numerical assessment tools like BMI (Body Mass Index) and BMR (Basil Metabolic Rate) calculations are included in the camp long with physical assessments like the Illinois Agility Drill and a mock Physical Fitness Test (both which are requirements for P.E. class). CPR (Cardio Respiration Resuscitation) and BLS (Basic Life Saving) instruction will also be included.

We can work to provide the right foods and activities but in order to continue the weight loss process and maintain good health the campers must continue the practices at home. They have to learn both the basics of the science as well as how to put it into practice: choosing appropriate foods and being able to prepare better meals for themselves.
We stress the practical, our nutritional block topics include: label reading, grocery shopping, meal planning, eating out at restaurants, mindful eating, meeting your nutrient needs and spotting nutrition and diet scams. Each camper will create a meal plan that will follow them home.
The key is that each camper will be educated as they progress through the program. We want them to not just do what’s assigned, but also know why we’re having them do it.

Accountability to stay with your new healthy lifestyle
Good nutrition is an important part of leading a healthy lifestyle. Combined with physical activity dieting can help you to reach and maintain a healthy weight, reduce your risk of chronic diseases, and promote your overall health. A healthy diet throughout life promotes healthy physical outcomes, supports normal growth, development and ageing, helps to maintain a healthy body weight, and reduces the risk of chronic disease leading to overall health and well-being. It all starts with education on how better nutrition can lead to a healthier lifestyle. We will help our campers begin their road to a well-balanced diet by making sure they learn to pay particular attention to what they are consuming and that all the nutrients needed for proper health become a part of their everyday eating habits.

There are six different types of Cross-Fit workouts. These workouts are used to break up the monotony of boring and repetitive fitness plans and are designed to make create more well-rounded athletes. It’s designed for people already in strength and conditioning training and for also for the non-athletes and fitness buffs.
EMOM - Stands for “every minute on the minute”. Start a running clock and do a set number of reps at regular intervals, typically at the start of each minute. The EMOM workout tests and molds your powers of recovery.
AMRAP - “As many rounds as possible”. Complete a given exercise combination as many times as you can within a given time. It’s a battle of mind over muscle.
RFT - “Rounds for time” means completing a given number of rounds of a circuit as fast as possible. The short rest periods help develop long-lasting muscle endurance.
Chipper - A one-round series of exercises, usually with high reps, to be completed in the fastest time possible. A high-volume, muscle-building grind.
Ladder - One or more movements, increasing or decreasing the workload over time.
Tabata - Do eight rounds of high-intensity intervals, alternating 20 seconds effort with 10 seconds rest. This is scientifically one of the fastest ways to lose body fat.

The program focuses on teaching the Cross-Fit methodology, which is using constantly varied, high intensity, functional movements. This means in our program we combine age appropriate movements from sports such as weightlifting and gymnastics, combine it with high intensity training, to result in optimal fitness.
