Happy New to You!
In true New Year fashion, I want to share with you our resolution as a staff: We are taking our Academy of Learning to higher heights through increased accountability, challenging academic rigor, and improved behavior management! Our scholar’s resolution is to refocus on their daily mission to grow academically, socially, and emotionally! Now we’re asking for our wonderful FPA parents to make a resolution to be more involved! Come out and support our parent workshops and events! We have some wonderful workshops on the horizon that are only successful if you are there!
As mentioned in the parent’s letter that was sent earlier in the week, we are testing at FPA! Our scholars are taking their mid-year NWEA assessment, and I am excited to see how they’ve grown in the first months of school. Once we have received the completed data report from this session’s testing window, we will be sharing details about your child’s performance. As a quick recap, our 3rd-5th graders are testing Jan. 10th-12th; our 6th-8th graders are testing Jan. 16th-24th; and our K-2nd graders are testing Jan. 25th-26th. Please make sure that your scholar is here on the designated dates at 7:45am for breakfast.
We are aiming high and “Going Green!” The green category for NWEA demonstrates proficiency, which means that your scholar has scored in the 61st percentile or higher. We know that our Falcons are more than capable of doing well, so we ask that you join us in encouraging them.
Ask your scholar,
Don’t forget that we will be celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday on Monday, January 15th.
Please feel free to contact me at your convenience if you have questions or need additional information. I can be reached by calling the main office or via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
